Naples. “On Wednesday morning, a citizen reported to us that he had found about 20 pigeon carcasses along Via Nicolardi, in Colli Aminei. None of the carcasses showed signs of violence. According to what we were told, a phenomenon of this kind had never occurred before in the area. Faced with such a scenario, we do not exclude that the birds died from poisoning. If this theory were confirmed, it would be necessary to clarify whether it was a casual ingestion or whether some criminal practice was underway to kill the birds”. The complaint comes from the regional councilor of the Greens Francesco Emilio Borrelli. “We have sent a report to the Veterinary section of the ASL Napoli 1 to ask them to carry out the necessary checks. Birds, like other animal species, represent a part of the biodiversity heritage that characterizes our territories. They must be preserved, not killed”.
