Naples. A tragedy was narrowly avoided this morning at Case Nuove. Shortly after 10:30 a.m., before the storm hit Naples, a large piece of cornice broke off from an old building on Via Padre Rocco. The rocks damaged two parked cars and only by chance did they miss hitting a mother who was driving by with her baby in a stroller. The collapse also happened near some busy shops and a local association. Despite the containment netting, which has been in place for years, the large rocks overtook it and crashed to the ground. Residents of the area and the building in question are protesting, claiming they have reported the danger multiple times to the traffic police, the Municipality, and the local police without ever receiving a response.
