After the incredible sales success, the most famous modern opera in the world is once again conquering Italian audiences. In Italy alone, in 17 years, 47 cities have been visited for a total of 145 events and 1.246 overall performances. In the 2016 season alone, it exceeded 1 million spectators in Italy and crowded the 43 stages, for a total of 283 sold-out performances, in 31 cities. In the same year, NOTRE DAME DE PARIS became a true cult, causing theatre ticket sales to soar, leading the rankings of titles and exceeding the attendance of the greatest live rock and pop music, so much so that it was awarded the BigliettOne d'Oro TicketOne at the Rockol Awards 2016. Also in 2016, the Italian version continued to collect prestigious awards and obtained three Awards at the IMA (Italian Musical Awards): Best Social Show, Best Music (Riccardo Cocciante) and Best Classical Show.
The musical has also been translated and adapted into 9 different languages (French, English, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Korean, Flemish, Polish and Kazakh) and has toured 23 countries around the world with more than 5000 performances, capable of surprising and making 13 million international spectators dream.
Behind these surprising results, the intuition of David Zard, visionary impresario and producer, who described, in 2017, the show with these words: “After 15 years, Notre Dame de Paris has continued to hold the stage with a resounding success, which knows no comparison. This project has entered the DNA of Italians. Our country had never seen so many spectators and replicas for a musical before. “Notre Dame de Paris” has not only held every audience record in Italy, but has revolutionized the entertainment scene in our country”.
NOTRE DAME DE PARIS contains a unique and unrepeatable alchemy, the unmistakable signature of Riccardo Cocciante makes the music sublime, giving the show a European character. The masterful adaptation of an exciting novel, like the one written by Victor Hugo, by Luc Plamondon and Pasquale Panella, directed by the wise director Gilles Maheu, is combined with the choreography and stage movements created by Martino Müller. The costumes are by Fred Sathal and the scenes by Christian Ratz. A team of first-rate artists who have made this work an absolute masterpiece.
