Naples. “A new fire of recycling bins has been reported to us by a citizen. This time it happened in Naples on Via Santa Teresa degli Scalzi. It is the umpteenth episode in a series of which we have now lost count. A transversal phenomenon, which affects all neighborhoods, and continues without stopping. Faced with such a long list, it is difficult for us to believe in chance or the theory of vandalism. We assume that there could be a criminal organization behind it. Each burned bin costs a whopping 1200 euros. Since the beginning of the year, the economic damage from burned bins has been around 200 thousand euros”. This is what the regional councilor of the Greens Francesco Emilio Borrelli and the councilor of the Sole che Ride in the III Municipality Debora Piemontese say. “We need to get to the bottom of this spiral. In July we filed a complaint with the Public Prosecutor's Office, we hope that the magistrates can get to the bottom of this phenomenon which weighs heavily on the pockets of taxpayers”.
