The International Forum on the Economy of Waste promoted by Polieco, in Ischia, will start tomorrow, September 20th at 14:XNUMX pm, at the Albergo della Regina Isabella in Lacco Ameno.
The investigation techniques for the detection of buried waste in the land will be illustrated with particular attention to the area of the Naples-Afragola high-speed railway station, as well as
as already announced during the press conference to present the Forum, held on 17 September in the Sala della Presidenza of the Campania Regional Council.

A truth operation supported by the Polieco Consortium through an agreement with the Cnr and aimed at preventing the presence of buried waste. The focus will be on the change detection method that allows to identify the natural and anthropic changes that occur on the territory in a given time interval. Through the comparative evaluation of remote sensing images acquired
from aerial platforms (fixed and rotary wing, including the use of drones) and satellite, this approach has been used to acquire information relating to the disposal of plastic waste
both above ground (surface disposal) and through burials.

“The use of change detection techniques - according to Vito Felice Uricchio, director of the CNR Water Research Institute - has allowed us to identify 53 areas potentially implicated by
illegal dumping of waste. The activity is conducted with the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Naples North”. Uricchio will be present at the Polieco Forum to talk about the investigative activity under the attention of the competent bodies.

On the first day of the Forum, speakers will include the Minister of the Environment, Sergio Costa (in video), the president of the Commission of Inquiry on Eco-mafias Stefano Vignaroli, the
President of the Parliamentary Anti-Mafia Commission Nicola Morra, former undersecretaries Salvatore Micillo and Andrea Cioffi, Senator Loredana De Petris, President of the Univerde Foundation Alfonso Pecoraro Scanio.
At the speakers' table, for the second session of the works, will sit Eugenia Pontassuglia and Roberto Pennisi of the National Anti-Mafia Directorate, Silvia Bonardi of the Milan DDA, Simona Merra Substitute
Prosecutor at the Court of Trani, Catello Maresca Deputy Prosecutor at the Court of Naples, Renato Nitti Deputy of the DDA of Bari and Roberto Rossi, Deputy of the DDA of Bari,
