Campania is the leading region in the Gambero Rosso 'Pizzerie d'Italia 2020' guide, with 19 award-winning establishments. The region edges Tuscany (16 establishments) and Lazio (13). The result was announced at the Circolo dei Canottieri in Naples with the presentation of the Città del Gusto gourmet publication, which brings together over 650 establishments, more than 50 addresses of the best Italian pizzerias in the world, and 120 new entries. Ten new entries at the top of the ranking and awarded with the 'Three Spicchi' recognition: I Salvo (Naples), Guglielmo Vuolo (Naples), Ammaccamm (Pozzuoli-Naples), La Contrada (Aversa-Caserta), Duje (Florence), Sud (Florence), for the Neapolitan pizza category. Sbanco (Rome), Vola Bontà Per Tutti (Castino – Cuneo), for Italian-style pizza. Crosta (Milan), Zenzero. Osteria della Pizza (Pisa) for the tasting menu. The Emerging Pizza Chef for the pizza by the slice category is Francesco Arnesano of Lievito, Pizza, Pane (Rome). Three Emerging Pizza Chefs for the plated pizza category are Ian Spampatti of La Lanterna (Castione della Presolana - Bergamo), Francesco Pompetti of Pompetti Tropical Due (Roseto degli Abruzzi - Teramo), and Giuseppe Riontino of Canneto Beach 2 in Margherita di Savoia (Barletta-Andria-Trani).
