Legambiente dedicates, also this year, a part of the Clean Up the World initiatives to the demolition of prejudices and the many social discriminations from which it would be beautiful, healthy and far-sighted to clean up the cities and territories of our country.
Puliamo il Mondo is the Italian edition of Clean up the World, the largest environmental volunteer event in the world organized in Italy by Legambiente in collaboration with Rai. In Campania, the three-day major cleanup will involve over 15 volunteers who will clean up more than 150 areas from waste. A commitment in favor of the territory, against waste and degradation, but also against all those fears that prevent us from building community relationships in the name of a better quality of life for all and for the elimination of cultural and social barriers.
The historic weekend of the environmental campaign on the correct management of waste and the promotion of the circular economy - scheduled for September 20 to 22, 2019 - will also be a commitment to human ecology, for social inclusion and the removal of cultural barriers, against the fears that prevent us from building community relationships. Numerous clean-up activities have been organized with associations that deal with migrants, foreign communities, asylum seekers, prisoners, disabilities, mental health, discrimination based on sexual orientation, together with school children, scout groups and more.
"With Let's Clean the World from Prejudices we want to create an opportunity to involve migrants and foreign communities who live in our municipalities, because all those who take care of their territory are citizens, regardless of their nationality. The many initiatives of Let's Clean the World - comments Francesca Ferro, director of Legambiente Campania - that want to restore decorum to common living spaces are a great act of civilization, a counter-trend message, which unites those who want to save the seas from plastic and the suburbs from garbage with those who want to save the territories from abandonment, illegality and degradation and rebuild new community relationships and common belonging, also with those who are looking for a hope of life and dignity in our country. In this sense, the appointment with Let's Clean the World from Prejudices is fundamental, because it is rich in the experiences of many different associations with which to share concrete projects and our own idea of human ecology".
Many initiatives in Campania of Puliamo il Mondo dai crimini 2019: on the 21st at 10.30:12 am, the appointment is at Fondo Nappo in Scafati (Sa), land confiscated from the Galasso clan and managed by CGIL and Libera, who have converted the place into social gardens. With approximately 2018 hectares of land, returned to the citizens in 28, it is the largest confiscated property with an agricultural vocation in the Nocera Sarnese countryside and in the entire province of Salerno and the social reuse project includes various areas of action, in particular the valorization of local production excellence. It will be a day dedicated to the “Io accolgo” campaign and the fight against gangmastering. The association for the fight against social exclusion LESS Onlus and the schools in the area will also participate. On September 22, the Legambiente Freewheeling club of Paestum (Sa) will be cleaning up the world in the dune area as part of the Giglio d'Amare project with asylum seekers, the Capaccio-Paestum comprehensive institute and the Profagri professional institute for agriculture, Capaccio section. On the 40nd, the Legambiente Terra Nostra club of Acerra (Na) will be organizing a cleanup in Piazza Russo Spena. The area surrounding the train station was chosen at the instigation of some mothers: neglect and degradation have made it a place of drug dealing, preventing children from using the rides. Other local associations and some young people from the Nigerian community of Acerra will be taking part, having become acquainted with the club's activities thanks to the experience of the "Io accolgo" campaign. In Solopaca (Bn), thanks to the support of the Taburno Camposauro Regional Park Authority, and the collaboration of the Municipality, some of the XNUMX migrant children from the Sprar will participate together with the students of the Comprehensive Institute for the second year, accompanied by the local social cooperative San Rocco, which manages the center.
