The conference “Masterplan of the Domitian-Phlegraean coast” will be held on Tuesday 24 September in Castel Volturno (Caserta). From the preliminary to the integrated development program”, during which the preliminary project of the Masterplan approved by the regional council of Campania will be presented. With the establishment of the Socio-economic Partnership, the Participatory Planning Laboratory will also be launched, for the first time in these territories, which will be developed throughout the month of October with a rich program of meetings and events distributed throughout the territory, aimed at listening to and gathering the interests, needs and development aspirations of local communities and, at the same time, improving the level of information, knowledge, participation and sharing of decision-making processes on current urban policies. The event, which will be held at 10 am at the headquarters of the Aggregation and Legality Center, in the Pineta Grande area of Castel Volturno, will involve, in addition to the mayor of Castel Volturno Luigi Umberto Petrella and the president of the regional body, Riserve Giovanni Sabatino; the president of the Campania Region Vincenzo De Luca and the councilor for Territorial Government Bruno Discepolo, with Matteo Pedaso of Land Italia, leader of the design group. Speakers will include Michelangelo Russo, director of the Department of Architecture at the University of Naples; Giovanni Sgambati, general secretary of Uil Campania; Annamaria Orso, headmaster of Ipssart and Luigi Traettino, president of Confindustria Caserta. The Masterplan Project aims to identify, through a strategy aimed at requalifying the area as a whole, an integrated Enhancement Program on a target area, part of a broader territorial identity area, consisting of 14 municipalities: Bacoli, Cancello and Arnone, Carinola, Castel Volturno, Cellole, Falciano del Massico, Francolise, Giugliano in Campania, Mondragone, Monte di Procida, Parete, Pozzuoli, Sessa Aurunca and Villa Literno. It is a diverse and complex area, with approximately 380 thousand residents on a coastline over 73 km long: a reality characterized by very strong contradictions, but at the same time rich in unexpressed potential and the object of great vivacity and interest, as emerged from the broad participation recorded following the public notice for the establishment of the Socio-economic Partnership for the integrated program of Valorization of the Domitian-Flegrean coast published last August 12. Over 170 expressions of interest have been registered in the participatory, partnership and concerted process envisaged in the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the Region with the local authorities involved, with the aim of encouraging the participation of the plurality of public and private entities operating in the reference territory. The approval of the preliminary Masterplan represents "the conclusion of a complex process of recognizing the city's identity, identifying local assets and resources, assessing existing planning initiatives or those that can be implemented in the short term, and engaging with institutions, social and business stakeholders, and the world of expertise and culture," according to a statement.
