Another arrest for drug dealing at the Rotonda di viale Carlo III, in San Nicola la Strada. This time a Gambian citizen was arrested by the agents of the Flying Squad of the Caserta Police Headquarters, led by director Luigi Ricciardi, with about 30 grams of hashish and marijuana.
The blitz started on Monday. The officers were patrolling in the Largo Rotonda area when they noticed two boys, the Gambian together with a man from Caserta, who were talking about something. The officers pricked up their antennas and saw the Italian handing a banknote to the other who was walking away through the hedges. He was seen looking for something in the grass, a pack of cigarettes. He took something out of it and went back to the buyer. At that point the officers intervened.
Inside that package hidden in the square were found about 30 grams of narcotics, hashish and marijuana. From there the arrest for drug dealing.
The African citizen, with no criminal record, at the end of the trial with summary procedure held in Santa Maria Capua Vetere was sentenced to 1 year, with suspended sentence, and to pay a 2 thousand euro fine and was released from prison. The release occurred less than 24 hours after his arrest.
