The Spazio Pueblo of Cava de' Tirreni inaugurates the 2019-2020 cultural season with the presentation of the book edited by Pierpaolo Farina on Enrico Berlinguer entitled "House by house, street by street: the politics of ideas" which will be held this evening (Thursday 26 September at 21.00:1 pm) at the Cava de' Tirreni headquarters in Via Raffaele Baldi, XNUMX.
After the summer break, Spazio Pueblo has deemed it appropriate to reopen the cultural and political debate in the city with the presentation of a book that wants, regardless of personal ideological positions, to underline the importance of a political action based on intellectual honesty and on a perspective of real concern for the future good of society as a whole. Pierpaolo Farina, author of the book, seems to be particularly suited to this role since he is also the founder of WikiMafia, the free encyclopedia on the mafias that aims to gather all the knowledge, legal and literary, on organized crime.
The book presentation will be moderated by Vincenzo De Leo and Salvatore Senatore, both left-wing activists.
The first edition of the book “House by house, street by street” dates back to 2013 and since then there have been several reprints with great public success culminating in 2019 with the primacy of one of the best-selling political books on Amazon, IBS and Feltrinelli, which leads us to reflect on how urgent and profound the desire is to return to a politics of real intellectual honesty. In this regard, let us remember the words of Enrico Berlinguer: “We are convinced that even this intricate world of today can be known, interpreted, transformed and put at the service of man, of his well-being, of his happiness. The fight for this goal is a test that can fill a life with dignity”.
A great opportunity for the city to get to know a young left-wing intellectual, Pierpaolo Farina, born in Milan but from a family of Campanian origin, who became the founder of the first website on Enrico Berlinguer (www.enricoberlinguer.it) at a very young age, which today has a web-community of over 500.000 people, a graduate in Social Sciences with a thesis on the mafia and capitalism, and one of the founders of the blog Qualcosa di Sinistra, as well as the creator and founder in 2012 of WikiMafia – Free Encyclopedia on the mafias from which the App MafiaMaps was also born, under the aegis of the Sociologist who has always been committed to the fight against the mafia Prof. Nando Dalla Chiesa.
