On one hand, the citizens' desire for prevention, on the other, the organizational machine of the ASL Napoli 1 Centro, and in the middle, the enormous success of Screening Saturdays. A success demonstrated by the record attendance recorded today at the mobile clinic, which stopped on Viale della Liberazione thanks to the healthcare workers of the Basic Health District 25 (Bagnoli Fuorigrotta) directed by Dr. Tiziana Spinosa. From 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., healthcare workers from the ASL Napoli 1 Centro provided free specialist visits and screening tests for the main pathologies, without the need for an appointment. The mobile clinic's logbook records 108 Pap tests performed, 89 breast examinations, and 62 mammograms. Furthermore, 104 nevus screening visits and 94 mole mappings were performed, with 110 reservations for the next few days, 123 spirometry tests (which allows for a
first evaluation of the functioning of the respiratory system) and smoking check-up, preventive check-ups for cardiovascular diseases and diabetes, 120 and 89 respectively. The distribution of 116 kits for screening for colorectal cancer was important. "As the months go by - says the general manager Ciro Verdoliva - citizens show us that there is a great desire for prevention. This is why the Screening Saturdays are having incredible results. I want to reiterate that the credit goes to a
team of extraordinary women and men. The ASL Napoli 1 Centro has an enormous human heritage, health professionals to whom I intend to provide over time a working environment increasingly suitable for enhancing excellence". It is good to remember that, beyond the visits carried out in the mobile polyclinic, the Screening Saturdays are a valuable tool for transmitting a clear message to citizens on prevention. We often forget that a simple visit can change our destiny, intercepting the signals that would lead over the years to develop even very serious pathologies (today some cases were identified
suspicions for which the II level has been activated at the specialist facilities of the ASL Napoli 1 Centro). For I Sabato dello Screening, the largest prevention campaign ever carried out in the territory of the ASL Napoli 1 Centro as part of the regional campaign Mi Voglio Bene, the ASL Napoli 1 Centro has also developed an important media campaign, one more way to stimulate the interest of citizens, young and old, on a topic that yes, can save lives.
