At 8:30 PM, 8:50 PM, and 9:10 PM on Saturday and Sunday, the Nuovo Teatro Sanità's theater season will resume in Piazza San Severo with "Tur de vasc," a project by Carlo Geltrude. A site-specific and traveling performance, "Tur de vasc" takes spectators into the heart of the Sanità district, guided by the "accompagna-tur" (tour guides), to discover what happens in three residential slums, which become the actual stages of the production. This session of the event features a play by Mario Gelardi, "La Bolletta," and two rewrites of Anton Pavlovich Chekhov's one-act plays, "The Bear" and "The Proposal for Marriage." The idea is to bring together the Russian society described by Chekhov with the codes, problems, and real-life poverty that characterizes this type of housing today, considered an expression of economic and social hardship in working-class communities. The rewriting work was led by young students from the Nuovo Teatro Sanità's Drama Workshop, the only one in Italy recognized by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities. The program will begin with "La Bolletta" by Mario Gelardi, a sensitive story that tackles the theme of gambling, performed by Luciano Saltarelli and Laura Borrelli. It will continue with two stories inspired by Anton Chekhov's one-act plays, reworked to be set in the slums of Sanità: "'O Spusalizio" by Noemi Giulia Fabiano, inspired by "Domanda di Matrimonio," starring Agostino Chiummariello and Anna De Stefano; and "L'orso," reimagined by Gennaro Esposito, starring Lalla Esposito and Riccardo Ciccarelli.
"I created this format - explained Carlo Geltrude -, which involves both actors chosen from the young people of the theater company and experienced actors, to create a connection between the daily life of the Rione Sanità, its inhabitants and the theater - contemporary and classical -, which still manages to speak to us. The Neapolitan lowlands represent an often unpredictable universe, which goes beyond any preconceptions and, thanks to the strength of theater, actors and words, breaks down any social and cultural difference". "Furthermore, the project received the fundamental support of the Fondazione di Comunità San Gennaro which, through its operators, allowed the meeting between the protagonists of this project and Bakalù, Pinuccia, Doruccia, Enzuccio and Tina, the people who made their homes available allowing the public to enjoy a unique experience", he concluded.
A €12,2 million investment to redesign the future of Vergini-Sanità. The Integrated Territorial Project, intended to transform one of the most distinctive and complex areas of Naples' historic center, was presented within the Church of Santa Maria Maddalena ai Cristallini. The project, overseen by the Urban Regeneration and UNESCO Site Enhancement Service, is part of the "Naples Historic Center" Institutional Development Contract (FSC 2014-2020) and aims to combine urban redevelopment, social inclusion, and heritage enhancement.

Through a participatory process coordinated by the Codici social cooperative, citizens, associations, and local entities were involved in a series of meetings and discussions. This shared effort resulted in a report with guidelines and priorities, the basis upon which the temporary group of professionals appointed, led by Erregi Srl along with other technicians and associated firms, developed the final project.
