The fifteenth edition of the Mozart Box starts on Friday 20 September: a highly evocative musical-theatrical journey in an extraordinary setting such as the royal palace of Portici.
Two leading names on stage: Paoli and Bennato. On the 20th the great Gino Paoli opens the show accompanied on piano by Danilo Rea. Closing the show – on September 27th – the inimitable Edoardo Bennato, recently back on the scene with a new single. On stage with his rock rock and a Phlegraean string quartet for an unmissable concert.
This 2019 edition is dedicated to the great artists of the past. In fact, several tributes to deceased artists such as Luigi Tenco, Mia Martini and Rino Gaetano will alternate on stage.
In “Cuori ribelli” the life of Luigi Tenco is retraced, narrated by the narrative soul of Tenco himself. Played by Alberico Lombardi, an unpublished portrait emerges that, in addition to telling the story of the meeting with Dalida, played by Elisabetta D'acunzo, narrates his friendship with other singer-songwriters such as Lauzi, Bindi and De Andrè, all seasoned with splendid songs, exceptional musicians and the direction of Gioia Miale.
“Call me Mimì” is Sarah Falanga's tribute to the unforgettable Mia Martini, seen through the eyes of a man who secretly loved her, without her knowledge.
For Rino Gaetano, a musical tribute is planned by the official tribute band created by his sister Anna in 1999. The program is completed by the “Jazz party” evening with the Gianluca Brugano trio, the folk evening of Terrasonora and the piano and visual tribute to Bertolucci's film “Last Tango in Paris”.
