“We have been living in hell for six years because of the airplane parking area created inside the Naples airport on the border with San Pietro a Patierno. I live with my family on Via Agello and we are forced to endure deafening noises coming from the airport practically every day. From March to September the situation becomes even more unbearable with the noise that accompanies us throughout the day. In addition to the noise, there is also a strong smell of fuel in the air. We cannot go on like this”. Nicola Ucciero lives in a house a few meters from the airport's perimeter wall. A structure that is absolutely unsuitable for containing the loud noises coming from the parking area. He reported the problem, with videos and photos, to the regional councilor of the Greens Francesco Emilio Borrelli. “This situation – say Borrelli and the host of “La Radiazza” on Radio Marte Gianni Simioli – is unacceptable. We cannot make life impossible for the citizens who live close to the airport. Naples airport has seen a surge in traffic in recent years but we cannot accept that the citizens are the ones to pay the consequences. Since it is an airport that is practically in the city, it is necessary to adopt all the countermeasures to contain the problems that air traffic can cause to residents in the surrounding areas. In the case of the apron, it is clear that it is necessary to proceed with soundproofing of the space intended for vehicle parking in order to contain the noise that makes life impossible for the residents of San Pietro a Patierno”.
