Agriculture and funds, Cammarano goes on the attack

"The investigation into the rankings for the allocation of funds provided for by the Rural Development Plans, revealed by the newspaper Il Roma and which led to the seizure of documents and records in the Salerno offices of the regional department of Agriculture, is the natural epilogue of an incapable and botched management, by the regional council, of fundamental resources for the relaunch of the agricultural sector of Campania. The self-certification mechanism has already led to the cancellation of 50% of the applications in the province of Salerno alone, not to mention the concentration in a few calls for tenders of a large part of the rural resources for 7 years (Psr 2014-2020). And it is singular that, in relation to one of the calls for tenders, in the province of Salerno alone more than 50% of the applications were submitted compared to all the other provinces. The chaos that was generated was inevitable, and the judicial checks are now focusing on it". This is what the regional councilor of the 5 Star Movement Michele Cammarano denounces.

"To date, the ones paying the price are the many entrepreneurs and owners of young businesses who have invested significant resources while waiting for the funds to which they are entitled, but which have not been disbursed to them for over two years. Having gone into debt and exposed themselves to a considerable effort, many of these are now at risk of bankruptcy, with catastrophic consequences for the sector, without forgetting how many employees of those same companies will lose their jobs. Not only has the Campania Region not been able to produce any initiative for the relaunch of the agricultural sector in these almost five years, but thanks to total disorganization, the De Luca-Alfieri-Caputo management has actually contributed to sinking it."
