Rome's Teatro Eliseo, directed by Luca Barbareschi, will host the official announcement ceremony and press presentation of the winners of the 24th edition of the "Penisola Sorrentina Arturo Esposito" Award on October 9th at 11:00 a.m. This award, held under the High Patronage of the European Parliament and included in the Campania Region's program of events of national importance, will be presented to the press.
Luca Barbareschi (artistic director of the Eliseo and president of the theatre section of the Prize), Danilo Rea (president of the music section) and Mario Esposito (general director of the Prize) will announce the winners of the various categories: theatre, music, journalism, young people.
“We support traditions so that traditions can then support themselves. This is the Victorian saying on which the Premio Penisola Sorrentina is built. It is an award that has its own institutional nature and great seriousness,” says Barbareschi. “In such a difficult moment like ours in which there is a tendency to downplay things, I am an old man who believes in institutions, having also frequented them, hoping for a deep investment in culture,” concludes the director of the Eliseo.
During the press conference, an award for his narrative career will be presented to the writer Raffaele Lauro, Prefect of the Republic, introduced by the Sicilian literary critic Patrizia Danzè.
The awards show will take place at the Teatro delle Rose in Piano di Sorrento on October 26th.
Among the stars expected on the Sorrento coast is also the internationally renowned soprano Svetlava Kasyan, recent protagonist of “Aida” at the Verona Arena, conducted by Daniel Oren.
