“Dimmi s'è amore – Me dice que hay amor” (written by Aniello Misto himself in collaboration with Gennaro Franco) is a deep, engaging song, with a Mediterranean flavor, belonging to “world music”, a musical genre to which the Neapolitan artist has long dedicated himself. A song that tells and best represents the spirit and musical style of Aniello Misto. A text that speaks of humanity, love, sharing and dialogue between peoples, that urges man to meet and welcome, to walk together towards a future full of hope.
“Dimmi s'è amore – Me dice que hay amor” – says Aniello Misto – is a turning point in my career as a singer-songwriter. The video represents various elements that are part of my life. For example, in the phrase “Tutt'e juorn'int''a na fabbrica, rint'a'na tazza'e cafè” an electric welder is shown, a job that my father humbly did all his life before dying. This was emotional for me. It's as if I saw my father again, his eyes, his strength. For this reason I dedicate the song to him. The sound together with the language that blends the Neapolitan language with the Spanish one, give a unique and engaging result. This single featuring Jorge marks the beginning of my future projects. Other songs and other collaborations will follow. The synergy between multiple artists and musical contaminations have always fascinated me.
“The single – says Jorge Pardo – recorded between Naples and Lima (Peru), is a humanitarian message that is always current: love your neighbor as your equal. Without a doubt, it is a song worth listening to. I am sure that this song will strike a chord”.
The collaboration between Aniello Misto and Jorge Pardo began in November 2018 on the occasion of their participation in the Andrea Parodi Award. Since then, the two artists have remained in contact, and then decided to start a collaboration together with the publication of “Dimmi s'è amore – Me dice que hay amor”.
“I met Jorge Pardo in 2018 at the Andrea Parodi Award (Foundation) – says Aniello Misto – and from the first moment I was amazed by his vocal timbre and the way he interprets the songs. I heard him for the first time during the soundcheck and immediately thought of proposing a project to him. We met, we both appreciated each other musically and a great friendship and collaboration was born immediately. He came to Naples some time later, on the occasion of the Elia Rosa Award, in the same period we also shot the video for the song “Dimmi s'è amore – Me dice que hay amor”.
"From the first moment I met Aniello Misto at the Parodi Award in Cagliari, Sardinia - comments Jorge Pardo - I found myself in front of a tenacious and creative artist, capable of channeling the explosive power of music in his live performances. I had the honor of participating with him in the creation and production of his new single "Dimmi s'è amore", collaborating with him and his production team".
