From October 4 (19.30:18 p.m.) to October 35, Area 4mm, in via G. Porzio, 5, Centro Direzionale di Napoli, is. G. XNUMX, exhibits #laPacchia, curated by Fabrizio Scomparin. More than thirty works between photography and painting, which refer to each other by comparing themselves on the theme of immigration: black and white shots that share their subjects with mixed media paintings on various types of media.
#laPacchia was born from the reportage made by photographer Raffaella De Luise during the demonstration “Aprite i porti: Welcome Refugees” on June 12, 2018, an event that spread on social media and then became truly social. De Luise's commitment brought her lens into the square, at human height, face-to-face, to look into the eyes of the stories of migrants who here would finally enjoy "the gravy train". Moments and faces of the demonstrators as details and ideas to reflect on: welcome and integration on the one hand, the pride and courage to challenge prejudices on the other.
It is in the strong contrasts of that photographic gaze that Giuseppe Fontanarosa has clearly distinguished fears, doubts, hopes, narratives that cannot fail to concern us: this is how his instinctive and expressionistic pictorial blow-ups are born, selections and decompositions that mix, and sometimes merge, iconic portraits with African masks as well as with our own.
The singer Assia Fiorillo will give voice to the portraits of Raffaella De Luise and Giuseppe Fontanarosa.
This event is dedicated to Mare Nostrum, which protects lives, “the visits fallen like leaves on the avenue” (Erri De Luca, Mare Nostrum).
