Interest in the NEAPOLITAN LANGUAGE, not only among the citizens of Naples and the province but also among foreigners, is growing ever more thanks to the protection and dissemination efforts that the I LAZZARI Social Promotion Association has been implementing for years.
The NAPLES LANGUAGE in fact, is not only in speaking it and understanding its meaning, but is above all in the history, in the etymologies of the terms and in the spelling: in Naples 90% can speak Neapolitan (at least in the latest evolution of the language) and 80% understand it, but only 2% can write it. Shop signs, billboards, restaurant and pizzeria menus in the city, etc. testify to the very low level of knowledge of spelling, not to mention the posts that we find on social networks.
And this is why the Association I LAZZARI, from WEDNESDAY 9 OCTOBER, again at 17,30:XNUMX pm, in the historic and wonderful (and little-known) PALAZZO CAPUANO, a site protected by UNESCO and also located in the Decumani (via S.Pellegrino a S.Paolo, a crossroads of via Dei Tribunali, not to be confused with CastelCapuano), will begin a THIRD NEAPOLITAN LANGUAGE COURSE with the FIRST LESSON (from this year with the novelty of multimedia projections that will help students easily follow the entire educational path, including exercises). We remind you that the other two are held simultaneously respectively at Palazzo Venezia in Spaccanapoli (and also sees the participation of the Consul General of the Republic of France, Dr. Laurent Burin de Rozier) and in Casalnuovo, organized by the Isaia-Pepillo Foundation and held by Davide Brandi, president of the LAZZARI.
The Wednesday course, which is also morally “sponsored” by the Neo-Bourbon Movement with the occasional and invaluable presence of Prof. Gennaro De Crescenzo, will be held every WEDNESDAY from 17,30:19,00 pm to 13:5 pm, for a total of XNUMX meetings (so until about mid-January) and is FREE (only a small contribution of XNUMX euros per meeting is required to be donated to the nuns who manage the Palace and to partially cover the costs of the teaching material that will be provided to the students).
The tutor, also on this occasion, will be Davide Brandi, president of the I Lazzari Association, author, among other things, of the 1734 Historical Tombola in the Neapolitan language (based on the original Neapolitan smorfia) and of a cultural campaign to combat the spread of Anglicisms (with the equivalent meaning expressed in the Neapolitan language).
At the end of the course, the LAZZARA/O VERACE certificate will be issued in a final ceremony that will be held in July 2020.
