Naples. Vandalism damaged a Neapolitan Mobility Company bus. Around 5:00 PM, a new-generation bus operating on the C12 line, just meters from the Pianura bus stop, was damaged by a group of youths who grabbed onto the handle that opens the upper glass hatch, causing it to shatter, before fleeing. Some fragments struck a passenger, who suffered lacerations to her hands and head, forcing the driver to call an ambulance and the police. The incident was reported by the regional USB. "The drivers of the ANM buses are completely abandoned and lack any form of safety," said Marco Sansone of the regional coordination of the USB Campania. "The vandalism of company vehicles and attacks on front-line staff," he adds, "are now countless. The 'Linea sicura' project, which provides ticket inspectors accompanied by municipal police on board buses, which was supposed to start in September, has remained just another slogan from the City of Naples and the company administration. We once again ask the institutions," Sansone concludes, "to guarantee the protection and safety of the women and men who work on the front lines for the ANM."
