“Opera Italiana is in the Air”, fresh from its successes in New York and Miami, finally lands in the homeland of its creator, the conductor Alvise Casellati, and chooses Naples (Friday 4 October at 21 pm in Galleria Umberto I), a city that has always been close to him thanks to the San Carlo, the homeland of bel canto, for the educational project he conceived and developed. “Opera Italiana is in the Air” was born from an idea by Alvise Casellati, a musician and cultural manager who has always been in New York, where for the first time in 2017 in Central Park, in front of thousands of people, he organized, as an artist-impresario, this free, young and informal lyrical gala, to tell the world about the emotional strength of Italian opera, the modernity of its timeless language and the need to approach it without preconceptions and fears. Since then, “Opera Italiana is in the Air” has become an essential event in the New York summer, and this year it will also be held at Regatta Park in Miami, which therefore also involves the Latin world, and which, finally, will be coming to Italy for the first time on October 4th. The project is made possible thanks to the support of the Municipality of Naples, Department of Culture and Tourism and in partnership with Intesa San Paolo. The Galleria Umberto I in Naples will host the First Parts of the Orchestra del Teatro di San Carlo, united – on an extraordinary basis – with the young musicians of the Orchestra Giovanile Sinfonica del Conservatorio di Benevento, to create together a new and special orchestra. Alvise Casellati will take to the podium to accompany the audience in the discovery of Italian opera at its best, conducting the young voices of the Soloists of the Academy of Advanced Studies for Opera Singers of the Teatro alla Scala. And the popular Neapolitan actor Patrizio Rispo will be the narrator of this journey between Rigoletto and Tosca, for a true celebration of art, open, informative, popular, but cultured at the same time.
