Yesterday, October 1, at the Museo Campano in Capua, a meeting was held between the architect Francesco di Cecio, president of the Board of Directors, Dr. Giovanni Solino, director of the prestigious Museo Provinciale Campano and the associations Capuanova and Piazze del Sapere. At the center of the discussion were the issues related to policies and actions that the Museum wants to implement for its promotion and enhancement as a place of knowledge and permanent training.
In particular, the President stated that he intends to relaunch the project “Adopt a Mother” of his exclusive competence, but with the collaboration of the most active third sector associations in the area. On the proposal of the President of the Board of Directors F. di Cecio, it was decided to promote an annual award entitled “Terra di Madri”, in homage to the exceptional finds existing at the Museum, the Matres Matutae – a unique collection in the world, for its historical, artistic and cultural value, the exclusive property of the Museo Campano and consequently of the Province of Caserta.
To this end, the President himself and the Director Solino have declared that they intend to avail themselves of the provisions on Copyright, since the Province of Caserta is the sole owner of the assets preserved in the Capua Museum.
To this end, a Promotion Committee promoted by the President of the Board of Directors and Director of the Museum Gianni Solino has been established, which will avail itself of the collaboration of the new President of Capuanova L. Marino Atellano and the coordinator of the Piazze del Sapere/Aislo Pasquale Iorio. The preparation and organization phase will be open to the contribution of other cultural associations of the city and experts in the sector.
A first initiative to be put in place will be the exhibition-display of the works of Mail Art, which hundreds of artists from all over the world have offered as a tribute to the Matres. This exhibition will be located in new spaces of the museum, intended for contemporary art, and may have a traveling character with installations in other museums and cultural centers of our province. For such an event, a catalog of presentation of the works will be prepared and the artists who created the various works will be invited.
