Lat Golden Tulip VolAlto 2.0 Caserta wins the first salvation clash by beating Bartoccini Fortinfissi Perugia in three sets. An important and characterful test for coach Cuccarini's girls who put their stamp on a success that moves the rankings. But not only that: at PalaVignola it was a beautiful manifesto for the A1 series for both rosters that fought until the last point.
FIRST SET
Volalto 2.0 got off to a flying start in the first set, with a beautiful exchange that bore the signature of Ghilardi in defense. The dragonesses, cheered on by the home crowd, immediately took a 4-1 lead with the attacks of a very unbridled Alhassan and with a great understanding between Bechis and Garzaro (12-10). Perugia, however, came together, closing the gap with the super defense of the former Cecchetto and staying in the game (15-12). The hot arm of Gray and Cruz made the difference by increasing the pace, closing the partial at 25-16 with Garzaro winning the block duel with Raskie.
SECOND SET
Volalto is also the queen of the second set: excellent understanding between Bechis and Alhassan with precise calls to the video check by coach Cuccarini (12-8). Perugia further closes the gap to 18-11 with Bovàri who calls upon Lazic who immediately scores three points and an ace (18-14). However, it is Golden who takes flight again with Gray and a Simon in diesel mode: time out for coach Cuccarini, another video check and Gray on the shields who first scores 22-19 and then closes it on 25-21 with a fast by Alhassan.
THIRD SET
In the third set, the pink and black duo continues to play alone, with the Gray-Alhassan duo immediately putting their opponents in difficulty. The match continues point by point until the score is 7 all, then Volalto warms up and increases the pace (11-8) with the first important gap. Despite the errors at serve, Perugia stays in the slipstream (13-9) with Gray and Simon who give life to the first positive break (2-16). Bovari senses the moment of difficulty for his team and calls a time out that can do nothing: Angeloni's error creates a match point for the home team, confirmed at the video check for the final 25-20. Great celebration at the Palavignola among the applause of the fans and three golden points for the home team, who close and thus begin to climb the rankings.
