IThe Gup of the Court of Naples North has sent the mayor of Casapesenna, Marcello De Rosa, to trial for the crimes of "attack against the political rights of the citizen" and "ideological falsehood committed by a public official in public documents". According to the Prosecutor's Office of Naples North, De Rosa allegedly forced the then municipal councilor Sebastiano Cilindro to resign in 2015, going so far as to file a letter of resignation from Cilindro with the Municipality, which the latter has always denied. After the pressure, Cilindro resigned. The investigations began precisely from the complaint of the then municipal councilor. Cilindro decided to appeal to the judicial authorities after the mayor De Rosa showed up at his home with three other councilors ordering him to resign. De Rosa wanted Cilindro to leave the Assizes because the councilor's father had been arrested for alleged collusion with the clan of Michele Zagaria (later definitively acquitted of the charge). The investigations were carried out by the Caserta Flying Squad, which intercepted De Rosa, establishing how the mayor had "worked" to induce employees to make false statements to the Judicial Police regarding the matter of Sebastiano Cilindro's resignation and how "such resignation was evidently obtained as a result of threatening conduct carried out by the mayor himself, who in order to achieve his goal (obtaining Cilindro's resignation) would have induced his collaborators to commit a series of irregularities such as the registration of a letter of resignation that was not signed and did not come from the interested party".
