There are 50 students from the University of Calabria who will go to Scampia, to the Officina delle Culture Gelsomina Verde, from November 29 to December 1 to study the social anti-mafia of R-Esistenza Anticamorra, the association founded by Ciro Corona more than 10 years ago to fight the mafia culture from below in the populous neighborhood located on the extreme northern outskirts of Naples. "The Calabrian university students, enrolled in the Anti-mafia Pedagogy course at Unical, a scientific-didactic project now in its 9th year of activity, - reads a note from the university - will engage with the local associative and social realities, in search of empirical models of citizenship and inclusion pedagogy. Particular attention will be dedicated to the study of the reconversion of assets confiscated from the mafia and the redevelopment of common goods. "The Gelsomina Verde Workshop - says Giancarlo Costabile of the Antimafia Laboratory - represents a model in the process of reappropriation of social spaces in the neighborhoods and disintegrated suburbs of our country. Ciro Corona has managed to create a concrete garrison of resistance to the mafia and the culture of violence without public money and lobbying affiliations. An uncomfortable garrison, that of R-Esistenza Anticamorra because it overturns - continues Costabile - the traditional iconography of the anti-mafia of words and drawing rooms, more inclined to drain public resources than to work in the field to build paths of new civil awareness and social dignity". "The initiative at the end of November - explains the Calabrian university - represents for the Antimafia Pedagogy project, born in Arcavacata on May 23, 2011, the 26th laboratory created outside the university classrooms.
