“We come from decades of lack of investment in the maintenance and purchase of trains”. This was stated by the President of the Campania Region Vincenzo De Luca during the program “Barba e capelli” on Radio Crc. “As Eav – continued De Luca – we are moving in the right direction. We are waiting for the national traffic control agency to give us the go-ahead to be able to make the newly purchased trains available to citizens. On the other hand, we have the Naples metro managed by the Municipality; I have the feeling that, sooner or later, we will have to make a drastic choice. We can no longer tolerate a situation of fragmentation of the public transport system. We will have to start thinking about a single management, but before the Region moves in this direction, we need to understand what situation we are throwing ourselves into. After decades, a competition has been held to hire new drivers for Eav. We are proceeding by category, starting with train drivers”.
