In the early hours of the morning of November 20, in Castel Volturno, Palermo and at the prisons of Santa Maria Capua Vetere and Civitavecchia, the Carabinieri of the Grazzanise Station executed the arrest warrant issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office against nine suspects seriously suspected, to varying degrees, of numerous acts of possession, dealing and importation, even in complicity, of narcotic substances such as cocaine and heroin. The precautionary measure is the result of a complex investigative activity, directed by this Prosecutor's Office and conducted by the Grazzanise Carabinieri Station, from November 2018 to today, having discovered an alarming phenomenon of possession and dealing of narcotics outside a real estate complex called "Palazzi Grimaldi", located in the Municipality of Castel Volturno. The investigations were conducted through the interception of telephone conversations, the contents of which were confirmed by the statements made by the buyers, as well as by seizures and arrests in flagrante delicto, carried out at the conclusion of targeted operations. In this way, the identity of today's suspects was ascertained, against whom a serious, unequivocal and consistent body of evidence was gathered, relating to the commission of multiple episodes of possession and sale of narcotic substances (94 in total) against buyers from the provinces of Caserta and Palermo. Furthermore, three episodes (two of which were attempted) of illegal introduction from Kenya of large quantities of heroin-type narcotic substances were identified. In this regard, during the investigation, based on recorded conversations, three arrests were made in flagrante delicto of egg-carrying couriers from Africa who arrived at the airports of Palermo and Rome. This activity led to the seizure of 125 ova, weighing a total of 1.572 grams. The contents of the intercepted conversations, which were conducted using cryptic language but were easily decoded even through the findings of the investigative checks carried out (the narcotics were referred to using the terms "stuff," "the light one," "the dark one," "the Italian one," "the African one"), made it possible to ascertain and photograph the methods with which the suspects carried out the illicit activity: indeed, it was possible to trace both the qualitative and quantitative data of the narcotics, given that the sales concerned packages of heroin and cocaine, respectively, for a value that varied, depending on the grams, from 20 to 40 euros. It also emerged that some of the suspects, before the departure of the "ovulator" courier, ensured that the journey was facilitated by a self-styled magician, domiciled in Africa, with whom they exchanged information on the locations and methods of the journey to be made. Concurrently with the execution of the precautionary measure, the Judicial Police Department executed an emergency seizure order, issued by this Office, for the area behind the building complex under investigation, as it is still used for drug dealing. On 22 and 23 November the competent GIP offices (S. Maria CV, Palermo and Civitavecchia), in the validation of the arrest of the suspect of crime, fully sharing the accusatory system advanced by this Prosecutor's Office, in relation to both the serious indications of guilt and the existence of significant, current and concrete precautionary needs, have ordered the precautionary custody in prison for all of them
