A coffee that is a UNESCO heritage. On Monday, December 2, starting at 9,30:XNUMX, the international conference “Intangible cultural heritage, between ritual and sociality” will be held, promoted by the Campania Region in collaboration with the University of Rome Unitelma Sapienza and the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli. It will be the occasion to launch the candidacy of Neapolitan espresso coffee as a heritage of humanity. An award that would recognize the uniqueness and irreproducibility of a typical product of the territory that is famous throughout the world. Among the promoters of the candidacy, whose process began with a signature collection at the historic Bar Gambrinus, is the regional councilor of the Greens and President of the Regional Observatory on cultural heritage of the Campania Regional Council Francesco Borrelli. “Neapolitan espresso coffee – explains Borrelli – has its own peculiarities that characterize it and differentiate it from all other types of espresso. We are aiming for UNESCO recognition as a world heritage site, following what has already happened with Neapolitan pizza. We know that a similar process is underway for the candidacy of Italian espresso coffee, but it is known that these are two different products. We are in favor of international recognition of Italian excellence. We therefore support both candidacies and hope that both processes can conclude happily, and we expect the government and other promoters to do the same with ours, which aims for international recognition of a product that has exported Naples to the world”. The conference will be concluded by the President of the Campania Region Vincenzo De Luca and will see the participation of the President of the Regional Council of the Campania Region Rosa D'Amelio, the Councilor for Development and Promotion of Tourism of the Regional Council Corrado Matera, the General Director of Culture and Tourism of the Campania Region Rosanna Romano and the General Director of the University of Rome Unitelma Sapienza Donato Squara. Also present will be Professor Francisco Humberto Cunha Filho, full professor of law at the Universidade de Fortaleza and considered the greatest expert in Brazil on cultural rights, Enrico Vicenti, Secretary General of the Italian National Commission for UNESCO, Tommaso Edoardo Frosini, Vice President of the CNR – National Research Council, Isabelle Chave, Deputy Director of the Department for Research Policy of the French Ministry of Culture, Marino Niola, editor of La Repubblica and world-famous anthropologist and of course, Pier Luigi Petrillo, holder of the UNESCO Chair at the University of Rome Unitelma Sapienza for Cultural Heritage and member of the UNESCO world experts body (the only European, the first Italian to be part of it) called to evaluate the candidacies. |
