I carabinieri of the Marano di Napoli company carried out a service dedicated to the fight against illegal public transport. Today, along Corso Italia, they stopped and subjected to administrative control two vans crowded with passengers who had even paid a ticket.
One of the drivers, noticing the police, tried to stop before crossing them to let the passengers get off but was still noticed and fined for unauthorized public transport.
He and another driver were also charged with altering the characteristics of the vehicle because they added seats to the vans to make them more spacious, even if at the expense of safety.
During the service the Carabinieri checked other vehicles: some drivers were caught driving a car uncovered by the insurance, two had never obtained a driving license and were fined while a drug addict was caught driving with 2 grams of hashish on him: his driving license was immediately revoked and the car was seized.
