Three resolutions have been approved by the Naples City Council for Metro Line 1. *Metro Line 1: Capodichino Station external areas project approved The executive project for the new surface layout of the external areas of Capodichino station was approved by the City Council, based on a proposal from Councilors Piscopo and Clemente. The project redesigns access to the airport, with covered pedestrian walkways, new parking lots to support the interchange hub and a new system of traffic for the external areas and the approach to the airport. The aim is to make travel routes as functional as possible, given the constantly increasing airport traffic flows. The intervention, in line with the objectives of the Memorandum of Understanding signed in August by the City of Naples, GE.SAC and Metropolitana di Napoli, is aimed at ensuring the full functionality of the road system associated with the construction of the new Capodichino metro station. * Metro Line 1: Two resolutions approved for the improvement and adaptation of the line Approved by the City Council, on the proposal of Councilor Piscopo, two resolutions for the adaptation of the existing stations of the Metro Line 1, through interventions to improve the levels of safety, accessibility and transport of passengers, including those with disabilities, and to reduce the environmental impact. The first resolution concerns the approval of the executive project, drawn up by ANM, aimed at improving accessibility and passenger transport of users with motor disabilities, through the construction of new access ramps on the platforms, the setting up of stations for disabled people, for a sum of 1.000.000 euros. The second resolution concerns the work to improve safety levels and adapt the “Vanvitelli-Colli Aminei” section, for which the design of a new type of track has been approved, aimed at reducing environmental impact and attenuating surface vibrations due to the passage of trains, for a sum of approximately 4.000.000 euros. “This is an important relaunch,” says Councilor Piscopo, “for the entire network of the Metro Line 1, which concerns both the completion of the stations not yet in operation, as well as the adaptation and improvement of the safety, accessibility and transport levels of those already in existence.”
