“In early November we reported the presence of a civil protection vehicle that was often parked in a no-parking zone along via Solimena in Vomero. The vehicle was in the possession of a school assistant who works at a school in the area. Following the appropriate checks, the Volunteer Office of the Campania Region informed us that it had terminated the loan for use contract that assigned the vehicle which, we remind you, must be used exclusively for civil protection operations and cannot be used for private purposes. At the same time, the Volunteer Office proceeded to cancel the association to which the subject belonged from the list of regional civil protection volunteer organizations”. This was announced by the regional councilor of the Greens Francesco Emilio Borrelli. “We can only agree with these decisions – adds Borrelli -. I find it absolutely cloying and shameful that a person uses a civil protection vehicle for his own business but the no-parking zone is even more unjustifiable. There cannot and must not be tolerance for such behavior. Civil protection must set a good example, not fall into the trap of the most vulgar and uncivilized behaviors."
