His legs were left paralyzed following a botched surgery; the paralysis spread to his intestines, and after a month and a half, he died. Nearly three years later, the case of a 73-year-old man who underwent surgery at the Colli di Napoli Hospital on March 2, 2017, and died at the San Paolo Hospital on April 17, has come before the Naples courts. The Naples Prosecutor's Office has summoned the three doctors involved in the case, alleging, based on an expert report, negligent injury. His widow, however, has dismissed the claim, also based on a biased assessment: "Did he die of cancer? No, they killed him."
