A stretch of road has been closed and fenced off in Via Toledo near the shop belonging to the Desigual chain due to falling debris. The shop itself is closed.
“It is a story that repeats itself over and over again. Ordinary maintenance of the buildings is not done and therefore the succession of collapses of rubble endangers the safety of the many people who crowd Via Toledo and the adjacent streets. It is enough to remember what happened in Via Duomo a few months ago where a man, a shopkeeper, lost his life when he was hit by a falling cornice. Going even further back in time we cannot forget the tragedy that struck little Salvatore who was hit by rubble inside the Galleria Principe Umberto. Maintenance work absolutely needs to be done” – commented the Regional Councilor of the Greens Francesco Emilio Borrelli and the Councilor of the Municipality 2 of the Sole che ride Salvatore Iodice.
