A pedestrian bridge over the Sarno River in Castellammare di Stabia has collapsed due to severe weather currently affecting the area. According to the Campania Region Civil Protection Department, there are no injuries. The Civil Engineering Department is on the scene, coordinated by the Civil Protection Department. The bridge has been secured by the Fire Department. The collapse of the pedestrian bridge over the Sarno River, on Via Ripuaria in Castellammare di Stabia, is causing concern. Construction material from the bridge has invaded the riverbed, and there are concerns that it could act as a dam, blocking the flow of the river, which has also been swollen by today's rains. Engineers from the Municipality of Castellammare di Stabia and the relevant councilor, Fulvio Cali, have arrived on the scene. They have alerted the Sarno River Basin Consortium and the Civil Engineering Department, responsible for the Sarno embankments. The location where the collapse occurred is the point where Via Schito and Via Ripuaria converge.
