All is set for the Christmas dodgeball triangular tournament, which will be held on Monday, December 16th, from 17 to 19 p.m., in the gym of the Denza Comprehensive School in Castellammare di Stabia, directed by Professor Fabiola Toricco. On the field, in the presence of the Castellammare-Sorrrento area representative of the CSI (Italian Sports Center) Catello Sinfarosa, the under-11 beginners category will compete with Skuateam, Step Over, and Dodgeball Denza. Also taking center stage will be the Dodgeball Denza kids who attended the course at the school taught by Mattia Helio Federico of the CSI Napoli (Italian Sports Center), under the supervision of Alessandro Martone, provincial councilor of the CSI Napoli, as part of the "Panthakù. Educare ovunque" project promoted by Ai.Bi. Associazione Amici dei Bambini, selected by the Social Enterprise Con i Bambini as part of the Fund for Combating Child Educational Poverty. But what is dodgeball? Literally meaning "dodge ball," it's a team sport that evolved from a competitive game of dodgeball. It's usually played six-a-side, with five balls. At the start of the game, the balls are placed in the center of the "dead zone," a 60-cm strip dividing the two playing areas, equally spaced. Players, meanwhile, stand behind their own baseline, ready to go when the referee blows the whistle to begin the match. They must compete to secure as many balls as possible before their opponents. The number of players allowed to run for a ball is equal to the number of balls on the field. The remaining players enter the field following the starting whistle. The objective of the game is to eliminate all players from the opposing team, or to end the game with a greater number of players on the field than the opposing team. The triangular tournament will be open to families so they can see firsthand the work their children have been carrying out since mid-October with the team of experts from the Panthakù project. Not just sports, in keeping with Panthakù's mission, but comprehensive education: dodgeball, more than other sports, is crucial for helping young people understand the value of networking. And networking is the philosophy that drives all Panthakù's players.

"The project was selected by Con i Bambini as part of the Fund for the fight against child educational poverty. The Fund was born from an agreement between the banking foundations represented by Acri, the National Third Sector Forum and the Government. It supports interventions aimed at removing economic, social and cultural obstacles that prevent minors from fully enjoying educational processes. To implement the Fund's programs, the social enterprise Con i Bambini was founded in June 2016, a non-profit organization entirely owned by the CON IL SUD Foundation. www.conibambini.org
