Cava, man sells barrels on toy stall: reported

Yesterday, December 28, the State Police officers of the Public Safety Commissioner of Cava de' Tirreni, following targeted info-investigative activity for the prevention and repression of the marketing of firecrackers and illegal explosive materials, learned that at a stall in the city center, authorized for the sale of toys during the Christmas holidays, the manager MV, a 49-year-old from Cava, was illegally holding explosive material. After carrying out specific checks, the officers carried out a search, pursuant to art. 41 TULPS, during which they found:
a) in a plastic bag hidden in the garbage bin:
– no. 5 cd. “TRACCHI” artefacts with 5 folds and a final throne measuring 4 cm in height and 2 cm in diameter;
– no. 5 black stick-type artifacts bearing the writing “RAMBO K33” with closed plastic base and short fuse, with cat.F4 abbreviation (equivalent to the former cat.IV), gr.33;
b) inside a jute sack found inside a vehicle parked near the stall, hidden in an iron bin used for cooking chestnuts:
– no. 30 “TRACCHI” CDs, manufactured with 5 folds and a final throne measuring 4 cm in height and 2 cm in diameter;
– no. 19 black coloured stick-type artefacts bearing the inscription “RAMBO K33” with closed plastic base and short fuse, with cat.F4 initials (equivalent to the former cat.IV), gr.33.
Furthermore, during the search carried out at the man's home, two plastic bins were found, hidden outside a pigsty, behind the wall in a corner protected from the elements, inside which there was the following material: in a red plastic bin:
– no. 110 black stick-type artifacts bearing the writing “RAMBO K33” with closed plastic base and short fuse, with cat.F4 abbreviation (equivalent to the former cat.IV), gr.33;
– no. 33 black coloured stick-type artefacts bearing the writing “TUNDER” with closed plastic base and short fuse, with cat.F4 initials (equivalent to the former cat.IV), gr.33;
– no. 101 “ONION” CDs, manufactured with a short fuse consisting of a cylinder measuring 6 cm in height and 7 cm in diameter;
– no. 20 “ONION” CDs manufactured with 4-fold sections consisting of a cylinder measuring 5 cm in height and 7 cm in diameter;
– no. 249 “TRACCHI” CDs, manufactured with 5 folds with a total length of 15 cm;
– no. 13 “TRACCHI” CDs, manufactured with 6 folds with a total length of 14 cm;
– 1,5 m of delay;
In a grey plastic bin:
– no. 299 cd. “TRACCHI” artefacts with 5 folds and a final throne measuring 4 cm in height and 2 cm in diameter;
– no. 4 “ONION” CDs manufactured with 6-fold sections consisting of a cylinder measuring 9 cm in height and 8 cm in diameter.
Following the activity of the State Police, the man was investigated for the crimes provided for by art. 679 CP in relation to art. 38 TULPS – art. 2 of law 895 of 2.10.1967 – illegal possession of explosive material.
All the material was seized and, after the intervention of the bomb disposal expert of the Salerno Police Headquarters, entrusted to a specialized company, at the disposal of the Judicial Authority.
