“Dramatic situation, we are isolated from the world due to five large landslides”. The mayor of Cetara, Fortunato Della Monica, has been working for hours with the police, firefighters and civil protection to deal with the darkest page for his village in recent years, with the bad weather alert that should last until this afternoon. Cetara cannot be accessed from Maiori, as the Amalfi state road has been closed at Capo d'Orso for several days. In addition, between Saturday and Sunday a second landslide occurred, worsening the situation. Another particularly serious landslide episode is the one near the Cetus hotel, where a ridge partially collapsed, overwhelming the parapet of the state road which, after hours of work, is once again passable only for emergency vehicles. State road 163, in fact, is closed in Vietri sul Mare at the junction for Raito, given that from there in the direction of Maiori there are several landslides. Beyond the two main avalanches, another very large one fell in the upper part of Cetara, in the Cannillo area.
