Links to the 'ndrangheta: this morning the Piedmont Regional Councillor Roberto Rosso, a member of Fratelli d'Italia, was arrested along with 7 other people. Rosso is the recipient of a precautionary order executed by the Guardia di Finanza of Turin at the request of the District Anti-Mafia Directorate, as part of an operation against individuals linked to the 'ndrangheta rooted in the territory of Carmagnola and operating in Turin. Among the illegal conducts, in addition to the mafia-style criminal association and tax crimes for 16 million euros, the crime of political-mafia electoral exchange was also contested. From what has been learned, Rosso, 58 years old, a civil lawyer with a long experience in Parliament, where he was a member of parliament for five legislatures and twice undersecretary, is said to have asked for help from organised crime to be elected in the last regional elections in the coalition supporting President Alberto Cirio. In the Region Rosso is the councilor for Relations with the Regional Council, Deregulation and simplification of administrative procedures, Legal Affairs and Litigation, Emigration and Civil Rights.
The Guardia di Finanza also carried out seizures of assets on the national territory against some individuals linked to the 'ndrangheta rooted in the territory of Carmagnola and operating in Turin. Among the illicit conducts, in addition to the mafia-style criminal association and tax crimes for 16 million euros, the crime of political-mafia electoral exchange was also contested to the former parliamentarian Rosso.
