Circumvesuviana, commuters walking on the tracks again: a nightmare end to the year

The 6:09 a.m. train bound for the mainland was stopped between the Pioppaino and Via Nocera stations due to a breakdown. Commuters were asked to disembark and continue their journey on foot, on the tracks. "Trains departing from Naples are limited to Pioppaino, and trains departing from Sorrento are limited to Castellammare," EAV's official channels state. "Due to a breakdown on train 1061 departing from Naples at 6:09 a.m. and departing from Sorrento between the Pioppaino and Via Nocera stations, train service is temporarily interrupted between the Pioppaino and Castellammare di Stabia stations."
