The Carabinieri of the Ercolano branch found in the garage of Antonio Perna, a 72-year-old local pensioner already known to the police, 120 homemade explosive devices (the so-called “rendini”), an “onion” and 58 very dangerous firecrackers: all of which, hidden in a large black bag, weighed a total of almost 6 kilos.
The discovery was made while the Carabinieri were carrying out a service specifically to combat the trafficking of fireworks and after finding the material they arrested the man for possession of explosive material. The 72-year-old is now under house arrest awaiting trial.
