Three hundred people living in the historic center of San Martino Valle Caudina were evacuated after the Caudino River, partially buried, raised the square, and with its load of water, mud, and debris, endangered the safety of residents. No injuries were reported, but the families who had found shelter with relatives and in shelters set up by the municipality and Civil Protection were left in great fear.
In action the mobile column of the Avellino firefighters and the Regional Civil Protection that fortunately was already in the area due to the floods recorded in the morning in nearby Cervinara. Some people during the evacuation of the houses were slightly injured after falling to the ground due to the mud that invaded everything.
