Two hundred and fifty people are trapped inside the Cetus Hotel in Cetara on the Amalfi Coast due to bad weather. Guests and wedding guests are staying inside the hotel, where a wedding was also taking place. They are unable to leave due to the adverse weather conditions that are causing widespread damage to the small coastal town. The mayor of nearby Vietri sul Mare, Giovanni De Simone, has ordered the establishment of a reception center for all residents of Cetara who, in the coming hours, will be unable to return to their homes. "In light of the landslides affecting the Municipality of Cetara and the latest landslide affecting the Amalfi Coast Highway between Vietri and Cetara, potentially closing the road to traffic, the Mayor of Vietri sul Mare, Giovanni De Simone, has set up a reception center at the middle school in Piazza Matteotti in Vietri sul Mare for residents of Cetara who will be unable to reach their town and homes in the coming hours." In a statement, the municipal administration of Vietri sul Mare (Salerno) announced its support for the population of Cetara, who were left isolated after several landslides that occurred during the day due to the exceptionally bad weather that hit the Amalfi Coast.
