Food products intended for sale and consumption valued at €200 were seized in the province of Avellino by the Carabinieri Forestry Corps. At a farm in the Ufita Valley, the officers, along with local health authority personnel, conducted inspections of a farm where over 10 liters of olive oil intended for sale as DOP extra virgin olive oil were stored in steel containers without any legally required indication of provenance or production. The same violation was observed at a winery in the same area, where nearly 11 liters of certified organic red wine were seized, along with hundreds of jars of honey totaling 170 kg. The companies were also ordered to revoke the organic certification for the seized products.
