Giovanni Lindo Ferretti, founder of the historic punk group “CCCP fedeli alla linea” (founded in 1982 and disbanded in 1990), of the “CSI – Consorzio Suonatori Indipendenti” and of the “PGR”, presents the recital “Bella Gente d'Appennino” on Saturday 21 December at 20 pm at the Church of Santa Maria Donnaregina Nuova (Diocesan Museum). With him on stage, for the II edition of the festival “Sacro Sud – AnimeSalve 2.0” directed by Enzo Avitabile, also the violinist Ezio Bonicelli of Üstmamò for an intimate and evocative show (free admission until seats are taken).
The recital “Bella Gente d'Appennino” draws inspiration from the book of the same name, published by Mondadori in 2009. A personal reflection on mountain life, the woods, the animals, the transhumance and the recited celebrations. An intense show where the words, full of sweat and centuries-long history, are recited, chanted and sometimes sung. “Bella Gente d'Appennino” is the ideal sequel to “Reduce”, a book first and then a show, inspired by the return home and the inevitable rediscovery of oneself; a veteran like the ancestors who went to war years before and were awaited for years by their women; a veteran like those who, after years, find themselves having to deal with their own renewed thoughts.
Giovanni Lindo Ferretti is a controversial and unique artist, who went from being an icon of Italian underground music to a hermit in Cerreto Alpi, on the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines: a mountain on a human scale. From pro-Soviet punk to Catholic fundamentalism, an absolute master of the art of provocation, Ferretti is not only a singer, writer, poet. He is above all a man who has lived the stage with discomfort for a long time - sometimes uncontrollable, sometimes acceptable, even glorious - throwing everything back onto his audience and who has now found a new dimension. A mountaineer who was not born to be a singer, but it happened!
The festival “Sacro Sud – AnimeSalve 2.0, organized by Black Tarantella and the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Municipality of Naples and financed by the Campania Region (Fondi Poc 2014/2020), will bring until January 6th in 7 churches of the city of Naples, from the center to the suburbs, free admission shows with artists from Mali, Morocco, Madagascar, Pakistan, Iran, India, Portugal, Turkey, USA and Italy. For a great meeting of music, art, dance and poetry.
