Ferry and hydrofoil ticket offices in Marina Grande were blown off by the wind: this is one of the damages reported on Capri due to this morning's storm. Firefighters removed several tall trees downed by the wind. The only departure from the port of Capri, shortly before 8:00 a.m., was the Caremar ferry, which, due to waves—which reached 6 meters high overnight—could no longer remain docked at the Marina Grande dock for safety reasons, as the shipping company announced. Only about twenty people who were stranded yesterday in Capri remained on board. Ischia and Procida were isolated due to the rough seas, while from Capri, only one ferry managed to depart at 8:00 a.m. before all services were suspended. Shipping companies do not expect a quick resumption of services, and it is therefore likely that the suspension of ferry services will continue throughout the day. In Pozzuoli, the closest port to Ischia and Procida, several dozen people have been waiting to board since last night: islanders returning home for the holidays and tourists who have chosen the islands for their Christmas holidays. Situations are similar in Ischia Porto and Marina Grande, with numerous passengers waiting at the ferry terminals for the first departing vessel.
