Some suspicious activity attracted the attention of the Caserta Police Headquarters, who responded by finding over 50 grams of cocaine, nearly 800 grams of hashish, and 18 grams of 'cobret' in the home of a person under special surveillance. This led to the arrest of Vincenzo Chiarolanza, a 57-year-old from Santa Maria Capua Vetere, believed to be associated with the Casalesi clan. He faces charges of possession with intent to distribute narcotics.
The judicial police activity matured within the scope of operations aimed at preventing and combating drug trafficking in the Province of Caserta carried out by the Caserta Flying Squad, together with the personnel of the S. Maria CV Police Station.
Chiarolanza was already under the preventive measure of special public security surveillance, with the obligation to stay, as well as the obligation to report to the judicial police. His suspicious movements lead the police to raid the house of the 57-year-old, who is said to be active in Villa Literno and Castel Volturno.
In the house, several packages containing substances were discovered, hidden in various parts of the house and in the garage, which, as confirmed by subsequent checks, were of a psychotropic nature. In fact, they were “Cocaine”, for a total gross weight of 54,5 grams; then “Hashish”, for a total gross weight of 782,2 grams, as well as “Cobret”, with a total gross weight of 18 grams. In addition to 1315 euros in cash as well as two precision scales plus all the material necessary for packaging the substances.
After the routine checks, Chiarolanza was declared under arrest and, as ordered by the public prosecutor, sent to the S. Maria Capua Vetere prison pending the validation trial.
