Avellino. The incident occurred this evening on the central Corso Europa, at the intersection of Via Dorso and Piazza Perugini. The two vehicles collided violently, possibly due to a right-of-way issue, while the traffic light was flashing yellow. The worst victims were two women in their respective cars, one of which was also carrying a second person. The force of the impact sent one of the vehicles flying into a streetlight. The vehicle had to be cut to free the young driver. Three ambulances were dispatched to transport the three injured, two of whom were taken to the emergency room with yellow code injuries. Police responded to Corso Europa to conduct an accident survey and reconstruct the full sequence of events. An ongoing investigation will determine who is responsible. According to reports, the conditions of the three injured, who were taken to the hospital, are not cause for concern.
