In anticipation of Christmas, the Naples provincial command of the Guardia di Finanza seized over 1 ton of category F2 and F3 fireworks and "onions" during two separate operations between Somma Vesuviana and Giugliano in Campania. Specifically, the Green Berets of the Rapid Response Group seized illegally manufactured homemade high-explosive devices, as well as pyrotechnic material, from a sole proprietorship in Somma Vesuviana, following local and home searches. Meanwhile, the Guardia di Finanza's Giugliano in Campania company located two pallets of fireworks destined for the provinces of Rome and Cagliari at the warehouse of a national courier, with the sender's address unknown. The inspection of the goods led to the seizure of the shipment, the identification of the actual shipping agent, and the discovery that the courier was completely unaware of the true contents of the packages being shipped. At the end of the overall operation, three individuals were reported to the judicial authorities, two of whom were arrested, for possession, illegal trade, and failure to report explosive materials to the authorities. Today's operations, following the large seizures made in Melito di Napoli, in the Naples-Poggioreale neighborhood, in Quarto, in Orta di Atella (Caserta), and in Taurano (Avellino), consolidate the results achieved by the Departments of the Naples Provincial Command, aimed at combating the illegal manufacture and sale of explosive materials. The final figures from the Naples Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza, during the year, amount to 90 operations, 117.779 fireworks seized, corresponding to over 7 tons of explosives, 114 individuals reported, of whom 11 were arrested.
