My Brilliant Friend 2: The First 2 Episodes of the New Season Previewed at the Cinema

Only on January 27, 28, and 29, the first two episodes of the new season of "My Brilliant Friend: The Story of a New Name" will be available in theaters as an exclusive preview as a special event. Saverio Costanzo's series, based on Elena Ferrante's bestseller, is published by Edizioni E/O and will air on Rai1 starting February 10.
A unique event for fans and enthusiasts of the saga that has conquered over ten million readers worldwide. The events of the second book of “My Brilliant Friend” pick up exactly where the first season ended.
Lila (Gaia Girace) and Elena (Margherita Mazzucco) are sixteen years old and feel they are at a dead end: Lila has just got married but, in taking her husband's surname, she feels like she has lost herself. Elena is now a model student but, during her friend's wedding banquet, she realizes that she is not happy either in the neighborhood or outside. During a vacation in Ischia, the two friends meet Nino Sarratore (Francesco Serpico), an old childhood acquaintance who has now become a university student with great hopes. The apparently casual meeting will change the nature of their bond forever, projecting them into two completely different worlds. Lila becomes a skilled saleswoman in the elegant shoe shop of the powerful Solara family in the center of Naples; Elena, on the other hand, stubbornly continues her studies and is willing to leave to attend university in Pisa. The events of My Brilliant Friend drag us into the lively youth of the two girls, into the rhythm with which they follow each other, lose each other, find each other again. “My Brilliant Friend – The Story of a New Name” (8 episodes of 50 minutes) is produced by The Apartment and Wildside, part of Fremantle, and by Fandango in collaboration with Rai Fiction, in collaboration with HBO Entertainment and in co-production with Umedia.
The series featured 125 actors and thousands of extras, approximately 8500 adults and 860 minors, and the creation of approximately 2.000 costumes, including original and archive pieces.
