Army Rewards Schools

On December 16, 2019, the inauguration ceremony took place at the Teatro Comunale in Caserta.
award ceremony for the literary competition «The History of the Italian Army and the role of its Corps of
Commissioner from 1861 to the present day, with particular reference to the deep connection with the region
historical/geographical area called Terra di Lavoro», under the moral patronage of the MIUR – Office
Regional School for Campania – General Management.
The aforementioned competition, in which 140 students belonging to the Institutes of the province of
Caserta (Classical High School “Pietro Giannone” and Hotel Management Institute “Galileo Ferraris“ of Caserta, High School
State High School “Don Gnocchi”, Classical High School “Giordano Bruno” and Scientific High School “Nino Cortese” of
Maddaloni), envisaged the development of a theme aimed at recalling the institutional path that has
characterized the activity of the Italian Army and the Commissariat Corps from its origins to the present day.
The examination and evaluation of the papers was carried out by a special commission (consisting of
representatives of the Army and the MIUR) who selected as the winner a paper written by
Classical High School “Pietro Giannone” of Caserta.
The certificates were delivered by the Chief of the Commissariat Corps Major General Stefano
REGA, from the Mayor of Caserta, Attorney Carlo MARINO and from the Commander of the Police Station School of
Maddaloni Brig. Gen. Francesco RICCARDI, in the presence of the military and civil authorities of Caserta and
of approximately 200 students.
In this regard, the Mayor of Caserta, in thanking the Chief of the Army Commissariat Corps for
the significance and high value that the literary competition had, he hoped that the Army,
precisely for the values, the sound principles and the respect for the rules that he is able to transmit to the younger generations,
persevere in this important institutional path undertaken with the Schools, in order to continue to
to involve schools in other similar projects in the future.
